Petrol Stations

Updated: Monday, February 18, 2008

Fuel (unleaded, diesel or LPG) is relatively expensive in Fiji because of the cost of carting it to the islands as well as heavy taxes imposed by the Government (leave alone any profit margins imposed). But service stations and petrol pumps are readily available throughout Fiji serviced by BP, Total and Mobil. LPG providers are Blue Gas and Fiji Gas.

Credit cards are not generally accepted so cash on hand would be a good idea or else the bigger stations allow for EFTPOS withdrawals. Unfortunately many service stations in Fiji have not caught up with the "service" element of the business, that is, they can provide you with fuel and oils quite easily but a hot meal or drink is not so easy to find when you're in for a quick pitstop.
