No problem... It's trying to leave this paradise that's the issue!

Fiji's economy thrives on tourism. But visitors are also granted a special place in Fijian tradition as vulagi or guests of the family. It is this sense of genuine hospitality that has helped propel Fiji's tourism industry to international renown as the friendliest destination in the world.

So as you can imagine, those factors combined mean that officials try to make the entry process as easy as possible. In fact most people choosing to holiday in Fiji are automatically granted visas, which can be for up to four (4) months. In fact in the case of visa exempt people, to enter Fiji all that's needed is a passport that's valid for at least six months after the date of your departure. 

There are several classes of visas including those for businesspeople.

Everyone flying in to Fiji will pass through the same process though. If you've come by air, the first thing that hits you after getting off the aircraft is Fiji's year-round tropical summer! As you come to terms with this, you'll find yourself meandering into the arrivals hall. Here, sadly, those poor souls who are only passing through Fiji will peel off for the Transit Lounge.

All the other lucky people fortunate enough to stay in paradise for a while go through Immigration procedures (which is as intimidating as a smiling official in a box could be and generally over in minutes). Here stamps are placed into the passports of those from visa-exempt countries and visas are inspected for those who had to get one beforehand.
