Non Government Organisations (NGO)

Updated: Monday, February 18, 2008

Passing years have seen the establishment of numerous NGO’s in Fiji, all of various objectives, but are all primarily focussed on national, sub-regional and regional partnerships. Most of these NGO’s have also formed ties with community based organizations and link together in representation towards relevant Government Departments that deal with areas of their concern.

The work of these organisations, have proved beneficial to a wide spectrum of the population of Fiji and the country as a whole. From grass roots, to communities, corporate to national bodies, the work of NGO’s is evident no matter the level of echelon.

Majority funding for NGO’s stem from European and Asian sectors, and as long as there is work to be done, and issues to be addressed, NGO’s will continue to be a reckoning force in Fiji’s day to day running.
