Nadi is a bustling tourist town by day. By night, a different picture emerges. The people in the West are notorious for their love of a good party. In fact, when the bars close down at 1am, most can be seen heading for a beach party somewhere or to a friend's house to carry on. 

There's several types of places to go as well. Thirsty Fijians like Greenland, where they can dance to the latest Fijian tunes from Delai Dokidoki.

Then there's Rangeela’s, which caters for those who love the Bollywood music scene. A local DJ that spins groovy Bollywood hits and the odd techno version of the latest English song.

Steps which is bang in the middle of Nadi town is where you can find cheap beer, good music, and a mixed bag in the crowd.

The smaller Namaka area has the more hip night-spots that folks flock to during weekends. These include After Dark, LC’s and the popular Ed’s Bar. Planters Club at the Sheraton is usually a hot local scene but is normally smoke filled, loud and too far from town. The same applies for Rave at Fiji Mocambo. Both of those though have closed for renovation.

For something with a lot less noise, try The Bounty, Ohana and Frequency Lounge at Martintar or Marau Lounge. Beers at these clubs are fairly affordable, the difference in costs probably being a dollar or two.

After you’re done swaying to the grooves and you’re feeling hungry, there are always omni-present barbecue stands on the roadside in the evenings, providing hot takeaways. Some even offer curries and fresh fruit juice.

Frequency Lounge

Location: Main Street, Namaka, right across the road from Eds’.

Open from 6pm onwards, Monday – Saturday, and features LIVE bands, also DJ every other night. Dresscode is strict, and security is very reliable. Taxi stand located nearby.

Greenland

Location: Main Street, Nadi Town.

Open from 7pm – 1am, Wednesday to Saturday. DJ entertains every night unless a band is hired for a special performance. Fijian patrons are a majority. Food available outside the club at very affordable prices.

Steps Nightclub (formerly Caribbean Jungle)

Location: Koroivolu Avenue, Nadi

Open from Wednesday to Saturdays with live band performances and DJ. Local and export beer available. Security is okay. Parking available.

Planters

Location: Sheraton, Port Denarau

Open from 7pm onwards, security is very reliable, local and export liquor available, taxis at base, shuttle buses provided for in-house guests, credit cards accepted.

DJ provides entertainment with live bands on special occasions.
