The new Animated Film School was opened in 2005 as part of the Arts Faculty at the Fiji Institute of Technology.

Today, the school boasts world-class production facilities and Fiji’s first 3D digital animation program and has educated numerous students that are now employed within Fiji’s film industry and are in current talks for other big projects.

With the assistance of the FAVC, top US industry professionals and the Fiji Institute of Technology are working closely to give Fiji students certificate qualification, and hands-on experience in international 3D animated movie production.

In return for basic facilities and support services, FIT receives revenue from course fees and a possible share of future production budgets. There is now promising prospects of a well-paid future in Fiji for artistically-inclined young people who participate in the new courses.
