What's In Season?

Updated: Thursday, August 21, 2008

Fiji has 2 distinct seasons:

The Cool & Dry Season (April to September)

The Hot & Wet Season (October to March)

What’s good to eat this season? Tomatoes? Kumquats? Avocados? Kavika? Some choice fruits and veggies are seasonal, therefore hard to find at times. Send us your pick of this season and where they can be found, and we’ll help someone spice up their menus with ‘what’s in season’.

Dont forget the humble Pawpaw or Papaya.Available all the year round and delicious, especially the Hawaian variety. It is very popular with the visitors as well and is always served in all upmarket resorts for breakfast.Pity, the Hawaian variety is difficult to find in the local markets.
