Come enjoy the tranquil setting of this lovely home located on the northern Fijian Island of Vanua Levu!
Location
A scenic 15-minute drive (18 km) from Savusavu town will bring you to Sekawa Beach on the north side of Savusavu Bay. Here you will find a new plantation style home on 5 acres of a native forest with a private sandy beach just a 5 minute (.6km) walk away. The home is a cool 230 feet above sea level, with a beautiful view that overlooks the peaceful waters of Savusavu Bay.
Accommodation
This 1280 sq ft home is fully self-contained with a complete kitchen, dining room, large living room and one bedroom. The home has vaulted ceilings, double wall construction with natural wood detailing and ceiling fans in every room. There are tropical damanu hardwood floors throughout. A 10’ x 40’ covered verandah to enjoy watching colorful tropical birds with ocean and forest views in the morning sunsets in the evening. The deck floors are made from white teak wood. It has a table and chairs with two ceiling fans, can be accessed from the double doors in the dining room and it wraps around to both sides of the house for a total of 600 sq ft of covered areas.
The bedroom has a high quality queen-size bed, two closets, built in desk and a ceiling fan. It has a door opening onto the deck and beautiful views of the gardens & forest.
The living room is fully furnished including a couch, 2 twin beds, TV, DVD, VCR player, AM/FM & CD sound system.
Dining
The home has an attractively landscaped yard with a multitude of colorful tropical flowers, pathways through the forest and an organic garden providing complimentary fruit when in season. For special occasions we will present a delicious lovo dinner. This is an authentic Fijian earth oven where the food is slowly steamed in banana leaves. Your dinner will melt in your mouth!
The kitchen is completely equipped with all dishes & cookware, full size refrigerator/freezer, gas stove & oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, rice cooker,water kettle & other modern appliances.
There is a large gas barbecue, dining table & chairs on the veranda.
Activities
There are land & sea tours available.
You will love seeing the island & local villages from the water. We can take to you to a small sand island to enjoy lunch, shell collecting, & snorkelling.
Unlimited free use of our: Double Sea Kayak with reef and river trips, tournament grade table tennis, horse shoes, volleyball & net and free weights to keep you in top shape.
Eco-Adventure
You will be able to meet the local villagers as they cast their nets at the beach. As you interact with them you will find that they are just as interested in learning about your culture as you are of theirs!
Families:
Let your children enjoy the grassy yard area & trails near the house. There are gates at each entrance of the deck, so it is easy to keep an eye the younger ones. The beach has very safe swimming, with a gently sloping, sandy, coast line. There is no charge for one child 4 years of age & under.
Fishing
Fishing trips can be arranged. We supply 4 trolling rods & Penn reels, lures, bait & our local expertise!
We specialize in serving the fresh catch of the day in a variety of ways: grilled, sautéed in garlic butter, broiled, or the traditional Fijian way (which is cooked in coconut milk), kokoda (cold salad style, cooked in lime) and sashimi platters.
Kayaking - Unlimited free use of our 2 person kayak will give you access to the 4 coral reefs as well as exploring the Nasekawa River. On the river you will see virgin mangrove forests, copra plantations and native settlements.
Snorkelling - You will enjoy snorkelling in the safe & calm waters of Savusavu Bay. Walk to Namoni Point, snorkel the clear waters and see the live coral reef! View the colorful blue starfish, live sea anemones, neon wrasse and a variety of tropical fish and coral. Pack a lunch and relax on the beach.
