Nakia's four bures (Fijian cottages) are situated on a magnificent bluff with stunning views of the Somosomo Strait. We look forward to providing guests with a unique and memorable experience of Fiji.
Location
A 10-minute drive from the airport at Matei on Taveuni's northwest coast.
Accommodation
Up to ten guests are accommodated in four comfortably-furnished bures, overlooking the Somosomo Strait and Rainbow Reef.
Bures feature king or queen size beds with premium mattresses, luxurious imported linens, locally-crafted furniture, ceiling fans, large tiled bathrooms, and secluded verandas with hammocks. As the only eco resort on Taveuni, Nakia employs a unique combination of earth-friendly practices. Families, honeymooners, and other travelers enjoy a comfortable and relaxing environment using the sustainable, natural energy of the sun, wind, and water. The Resort features water from artesian springs and fresh organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers grown year-round in a large organic garden on site.
Dining
Nakia's Cliffhouse Restaurant serves a full breakfast, gourmet or packed lunch, afternoon tea, and gourmet dinner. Meals feature freshly baked breads, fresh fish, premium beef, lamb and chicken, and vegetables, fruits, and herbs from Nakia's organic garden. Adults can expect to pay no more than US$40 daily for three meals and afternoon tea. Children's complete meals average less than US$25 per day.
Activities
Guests may relax at the Resort's 12-meter fresh-water swimming pool - one of the largest in Fiji - or watch the many colorful birds on Nakia's extensive grounds. We arrange for adventure-seeking guests to dive or snorkel nearby reefs, trek or bird through virgin Fijian rainforests, tour local villages to experience Fijian and Indo-Fijian cultures, explore hidden beaches, swim, fish, or surf. Guests may venture out on their own using Nakia's bikes and kayaks.
Nakia welcomes families with its moderate prices and child-friendly amenities, services, and menus. Your stay with us will introduce you to the people and natural beauty of Taveuni and help support local residents through Nakia's land leases, employment, purchased services, and community projects.
