Nadi is located on the western side of main island Viti Levu, and is the third-largest town in Fiji. Figures from the last census show Nadi with a multi-racial population of 30,791, with majority of the residents being Fijian. However, there has been a noticeable surge of Indo-Fijians along with a large transient population of foreign tourists.

Economic Activities
Tourism is the main source of revenue in the region due to Nadi’s proximity to the international airport, and the higher concentration of hotels and motels, compared to anywhere else in Fiji. Sugar cane production comes second. Facilities include accommodation of all kinds, restaurants, nightlife, duty free shopping, sightseeing tours and inter-island cruises.
The town itself is small in comparison to the capital, Suva, but is still a bustling centre of business and also acts as a gateway to other Fijian destinations.
HistoryNadi was once a small community of farmers and shopkeepers, but has over the years, developed into Fiji’s third-largest city and one of its busiest regions.
